College Profile
Government Degree College Kilam was established in 2007 and started functioning actually from May 8, 2008 in a make shift arrangement with the Arts stream. The College was shifted to the new campus in December 2016.
Spread over an area of 83 kanals, the college has a sprawling campus, compromising of two big play fields, main building, three prefab huts, a canteen, a specious parking facility, beautiful lawns and two streams flowing through the campus throughout the year.
The main building of the college houses different sections like; Principal Office plus one retiring room, Staff Room, Class Rooms (eight in number), Laboratories, Library, First Aid Centre, IT Lab, Office and eight washroom blocks. Since its establishment in 2007, the college has progressed by leaps and bounds in every sphere of academic activity.
The college at present offers both Arts and Science streams with subjects, General English, Urdu, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Education, Arabic, Kashmiri, Functional English, Economics Geography, Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Keeping pace with the modern times and adopting innovative methods of teaching learning, the college has established two smart class rooms. In the year 2018, the college established its own website, www.gdckillam.com, thus crossing another mile stone. The green meadow like lawns, the flowing streams and abundance of green trees in the campus makes it an ideal place for teaching learning and research activities.
